One of my biggest steps taken this year was to get a personal trainer.
And I mean… she’s so fantastic. She knows when to push me and when to ease up a bit, she consistently checks my posture and always catches bad habits before they actually become habit, and she genuinely cares about every single one of her clients, which really takes things to the next level. I know she does because of the warmth she exudes whenever I’m around her, and from the way she greets those she knows with energy and enthusiasm. Meeting for coffee on a day off? Sure! Checking in over the phone? Yep. She’s in it to win it, and it makes all the difference.
Her name is Tarah, and this is what she looks like (client is blanked out because I don’t know her and wouldn’t want her to be uncomfortable):

Adorable, right? Anyway.
The fact that she’s willing to work with me a bit extra outside of the hours I pay her for is incredible. Not only that, but she’s someone I like enough on a personal level to actually make me excited and pumped up for my days at the gym! Having someone to feel accountable to (aside from myself) has really helped me in making sure I get there every day for a workout, and having her energy beside me really helps me keep going.
So far, having a personal trainer has been really wonderful for me, and has definitely inspired me to keep doing what it is I need to do to get better. I’m moving into my Build Stage (two weeks early!) as of Monday (I think) so we’ll be doing more than just primal movement patterns for a change. I’m really looking forward to it.
